CPU usage

Posted 6 Aug 2007 by andypandy Post: Please excuse me, I think that I am on the right thread...My climateprediction task crashed recently. Working on the theory that it might be CPU overuse, I tried setting my preferences to Do work after idle for (1 minute). I went into my online preferences at ClimatePre.. and then clicked update in my BOINC client. The update didnt take effect. For testing purposes I then went into my WCG settings and changed those too. Again the change hasnt taken effect. Have I found a Bug? Should I even be worried by this issue? Andy |

Posted 19 Jul 2007 by andypandy Post: I think Andypandy should, for the projects of the tasks he's going to suspend, also select 'No new tasks' in the boinc manager Projects tab. Otherwise, suspending the 2 tasks will make the servers of those projects immediately send probably unwanted new work as soon as Andy allows internet access and network activity again. Thanks, again. I think I have got it now. Regards Andy |

Posted 18 Jul 2007 by andypandy Post: I have three projects running tasks, one of the tasks is 97.9 % complete but "paused". I would like to kick this task into life and get it completed. (You dont need to know this but I download tasks once a day from the Uni, and then go offline. It would be nice to get this almost complete task ready for the next time I go back on line!) Cheers!
