1) Message boards : BOINC Manager : BOINC 5.8.11 Linux version (Message 8192) Posted 13 Feb 2007 by bugi Post: Hello, I like running BOINC in GUI mode so I double click on boincmgr file to execute it. But unfortunatelly in new (5.8.11) version it doesn't run BOINC but only GUI manager so I have to execute BOINC separately. Interesting is that when I run boincmgr from console everything is just fine, BOINC and GUI manager are being executed. Second problem is when i want to exit BOINC program because only GUI manager is being closed, BOINC itself is not. Everything worked for me in previous (5.4.11) version just fine, now something is broken. What can I do to fix it? UPDATE Oh I'm sorry it looks like I have missed this post http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=1551 When I execute like that "exec ./boincmgr $@" it works as it should. Still, this does not explain why previous method doesn't work in new version but at least there is a workaround for it.
