Which project?

Einstein.
What I do not understand is that it was running perfectly before. I have the latest version on two laptops. On one this suspension problem has cropped up.
Is there some malware? The Einstein problem has been solved.

Same problem here. One machine on which Boinc is running does not obey the suspend command in local preferences. Suspend from ------ to ------.
For another machine, I have requested ten days of work. Instead, I get one task at a time.

Ok! Sorry for the false alarm. It seems there was some thing in my Boinc folder. When i reverted back Boinc 6.12.34 was doing the same thing on understanding what was going on i exited Boinc but Boinc client did not exit instead it slammed into 100% CPU useage.
I had to delete all my Boinc folders then do a clean install. Now Boinc is behaveing like it should. Regrets.

To the first part, yes in my prefrences i have checked compute while on batteries. It was set while i was on 6.12.34 then i upgraded to 7.0.3. When the power supply goes after about seven minutes CPU useage goes down to 2% which it was not doing so before. The elapsed and remaining time counters keep moving as if Boinc is busy but the CPU monitor in taskmanger tells a completely different story and of course the growl of the fans.
Second part. Ok i will go and register at Alpha email list but my aim was not to check Boinc 7.0.3 it was just to check up Poem and the Open CL part. In the second place it was not my aim to touble you either. It was just to bring to notice. If it causes me to much trouble i will revert back. No problem.
Cheers.

I have installed Boinc 7.0.3 in my i5 Laptop in order to run Poem and Albert on ATI GPU with Open CL. I had set Boinc to keep running while laptop is on battery but Boinc goes into hibernation as soon as mains is diconnected. This started after i upgraded to version 7.0.3.

Thanks Blurf for starting a new thread but instead of Milkyway Updates it should have been Milkyway Chronic Project Outages. By Wednesday the due dates will have expired. :) We are all waiting for updates.

Homeless orphans describes us best. Ageless is correct, lets make our own Milkyway thread on Boinc. Where we can take it apart in peace.

My vote is with Hassan, we have to keep our connection open just for WU's with malware, spyware and virus attacks.
Ageless, this problem is not just with Milkyway but with other worthwhile projects also, CPDN for one. It seems that the projects cannot or do not want to keep up with new Tech. They are just sucking their old machines with resultent breakdowns. As to going some where else, where? That project is a blank. Dont worry, when they come back online then we will take it up with them.

12) Message boards : Projects : Resources wasted on Primegrid project? (Message 41328)
Posted 27 Nov 2011 by KAMasud
Post:

Maybe it is wasted. The GPU projects dont require to issue CPU WU's. Their WU's run better on GPU. As to the credits being given for CPU WU's, I dont think there is much difference. If they are stopped from handing out CPU WU's then maybe the projects that need the CPU's more, may get them.
There should be two credit comparission charts. Seperate ones for CPU projects and GPU projects. This lumping together of the two leads to heart burning.
As to the term "Credit Whores"? mo.v i dont think that is Victorian drawing room standads either, even though i have no quarrel with it. Dago, you busy at it? Any way enjoy your rubbing of the fur the wrong way.

They wrap the data and upgrade the code quite frequently. So far i have noted a cycle of ten to fifteen days. Ask BarryAZ, he is the resident expert, i only joined the project a month back with three breakdowns so far.
Cheers and regards.

An on site look see sounds like some very hard exertion, very bad for health. As to finding out the status, whats the use. The completed WU's are uploading into some blackhole about which and where, i dont know a thing.
