1) Message boards : The Lounge : Which BOINC Board to Use?
Message 8166 Posted 12 Feb 2007 by DavidB |
Hello. I recently came across the orbit@home website via Wikipedia, which made reference to it as a Spaceguard project. From there, I made my way to the orbit@home Message boards, the BOINC Message Boards, and the BOINC Synergy Message Boards. I am now wondering, before I become an active participant in any of them, is one of them recommended over the others? The orbit@home Message Boards don’t seem very active and the main page itself doesn’t give the impression of a successful, ongoing, project. I am still not clear what it does, or what role volunteers play in the project. In fact, it is not even listed as a BOINC project on the main BOINC page. Has the orbit@home project been discontinued? (If so, I won’t bother with its message board). The BOINC Message Boards are a little busier, but the BOINC Synergy Message Boards seem to be busier still. I have the impression that the BOINC Synergy Message Boards are the general, overall, boards for all BOINC-related projects. However, if this were the case, why bother having the others? Clarification please: have the BOINC Synergy Message Boards become the catch-all boards, or have I formed the wrong impression? Regards. David |
