Again - oh, well. - and I had a weeks worth of work, too.

That's why I signed up for all the other projects.
I'll likely not notice, or sign up for any more SETI work units for quite a while again. I used to really like this project.

Bye, everyone. Merry Christmas!

LHC@home is not giving out any work, and I just picked the time for Milkyway to be down, too. Orbit's fallen off again. Back to Cosmology.

They've been provided with food and sunlight, and left to breed, as well.

The site also seems to be "unavailable" as of about 10:45 EDT this morning.

12) Message boards : Questions and problems : BOINC cannot communicate

Oddly, my fix was just re-setting up the connection in IE.

Why *all* my connection listings disappeared remains a mystery.

As soon as IE had the settings, BOINC quite happily resumed using it.

I haven't been using IE a lot lately, but I have used it, almost every day.
I've kind of switched over to Chrome.

Thanks for all the suggestions. It's good to see so much life in the group.

Hello,

I recently upgraded BOINC (few days ago?), and am running XP pro. Today I get a window saying to set my internet connection. Well, my internet connection is working fine, but BOINC can't use it.

Figuring that BOINC would use the same connection as IE, I checked there. It's blank, as well. It comes up fine in Control Panel.

How do I fix this? Thanks,

OK, I guess I'm stuck with two IDs.
The old account -was- on a different computer. (also different OS)
Oh, well.

I'm not clear on the HostID bit.
I was under the impression that my work was registered under my account, with my e-mail address.

When I go to the BOINC stats page (http://boincstats.com/), I'm listed twice,
once as ralph and once as Ralph, which I would like to consolidate under the Ralph.

I'm fairly sure I did this once before, but I've forgotten how.

I got a new computer, and thought I'd try some BOINC work as a speed comparison.

I downloaded and set up the BOINC software with no problem, but instead of running under my own account, I seem to have set up another one.

How do I put the new work under the old account?

Thanks,

Cosmology's at it again.

They actually got work to send out, then promptly crashed.
No access to the site.

Cosmology's quite happy to start a download, then it gives interminable HTTP errors.

Well, the site's back up. That must be the first step.
The WUs I completed 4 or 5 days ago are due today, so I wonder if they'll be credited, dropped, cancelled, accepted, deleted, or ignored.
Wait and see !

Boy, can I pick 'em.

SETI's now uploaded. No work sent yet since last week, but all the uploads are gone. The server status shows all green.

Cosmology - same. No work sent and the server status is all green.

Milkyway - same. No work sent and all green.

lhc - just no work. There's a note to that effect on their page.

Predictor - no work in the foreseeable future.

Einstein - well, happy days are here! I have work and am crunching merrily.
