Went back to the older version of BOINC, V5.2.13 De-installed the V5.4.11 version (again) and fired up BOINC.

No problems with the older version.

Sorry for offending this list if this is the wrong forum for this.

One of my client systems has developed this error. Had been work fine for months and months, don't know what triggered this error. And I have tried several remedies to resolve this, 1/ Remove Software and reinstall. 2/ Remove and install to new location. 3/ Search web for help on the error. 4/ complete Microsoft Updates and patches.
So far I have not been able to correct the problems.

System. I386, Microsoft window XP pro. Fully patched, office and other tools installed (ie my 'normal' workstation system.

Error when starting BOINC mgr. MS Popup window opens with :- title:- "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library" the message in the popup is :- Buffer overrun detected! Program: D:\\program Files\\BOINC\\boinc.exe A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must now be terminated.

I can not connect to the localhost and can't do and work. I did find several 'hit' about the web on this problems. And also noticed a 'fix' for this error on the BOINC Bug/problems pages. But I have not been able to resolve this fault so far.

Any ideas ? Help ?
