Have they been fixed. I keep checking the release notes. They used to mention that they were still broken but now the subject just kind of has disappeared.
2) Message boards : BOINC Manager : Proxy Problems with 5.2.x (Message 2025)

Well,

I have a machine that was (and is currently running...because of the problems) running 4.45. I upgraded it to 5.2.x with 5.2.13 being the last one I tried and it will no longer connect via proxy.

I set it up correctly and it says it doesn't receive a response from the scheduler. My proxy says it connects just fine and it says it is relaying all the right information. I installed 5.2.x on various computers on different networks. My proxy says they all connect just fine and are relayed the correct information but BOINC says it isn't getting a response from the schedulers. I reinstalled 4.45 on that machine and it connects just fine and is running happily.

how did the proxy get broken in 5.2.x?

I am running Einstein by the way...don't know if it matters at all.
3) Message boards : BOINC client : Hiccups or slight freezes of the system (Message 483)

I have a problem with the systems freezing for short periods of time...it does it regularly for the whole system. I have 2 identical machines...one with 2000 and one with XP and they both do it with BOINC running but the XP one freezes less often and for shorter periods of time. When I say 'periods of time' I am talking about literally a second or less but its definitely noticable when your trying to move your mouse across the screen and it sticks for a second or the program you are using becomes unresponsive for a second. It happens on both my Intel and AMD systems as well but its less severe on the AMD ones.

I want to have this program transparent...not virtually but totally. I would like to install BOINC on some machines at work but the one I tested it on isn't working out well because those hiccups are annoying the users big time. It doesn't matter how I have it installed either...service...multi user...single user...it happens on all.
