But i think it's not the BOINC community's (Berkeley's or the project's) work to punish Wate! He could, or should be punished, but not by BOINC or the projects! The user with Wates software and the unwanted BOINC, living in the same country as Wate, should go to police! They are able to show their computers and are able to tell police the URL of the downloadpage... I'm shure if the police ask the project-leaders they give all infos needet to punish Wate by law... But what is it? They can just say that there is a user called Wateand they could tell the number of his credits. And his emailadress, but if he's clever, and i think so, he used an instand mailaccount like "Temporary Inbox"... I don't know, but maybe Wate put his BOINC-Trojan to a cracked Softwareversion... So the "damaged" user are given to punishment by law allso! And they are punished by Wate enough... Or in easy words: The people with the most troubles / damage should cry for a punishment and call the police! Investigating Wates "kind of work" and making it public to the community was a really good job! Thank You!!!

Other wise the shin creator must use backgrounds that make the text standout, instead of something that has to do with the theme of the skin. I like the idea of the new GUI skins. Have created one using pictures of my orchids. Have also created some project_images for some of the projects that do not have them at this time. Some are very bland and am still working on them as time permits. Send me the skins to put them to the "BOINC Skin Download" http://crunching-family.at/dlc/ or registrate yourself and load them up! 3) Message boards : BOINC Manager : Some problems with skin for Manager 5.8 (Message 7224) Posted 2 Jan 2007 by Miko Post: I reportet the bug (wrong link or wrong linkname in BOINCs system icon) for a while in the BOINC_DEV list allso, but without any resonanze... I asked allso how to change the color of the letters. But the developer must do a very strong job, so they could'nt beleve that skin creators don't know how to implant new features in a xml file...

So everybody is able to load down the skins he like (for free), just from one place. To implant new BOINC skins to the download please give the following datas: - Number of version: (if there is one), - The Autors/Creators Name: (Peter Ididit), - A link to Your Team oder Projekt: (www.thisis.anexample.com), - The name how to show the link: (Team "XY" or "Example-Project@Home", - Importand: We need an Okay from the autor / creator to give his skin to the public, - and a short note that the used graphics are made by himself or that he's allowed to use them in the skin. 7) Message boards : Web interfaces : Lost teamcredits (Message 5805) Posted 28 Sep 2006 by Miko Post: In the BOINC Beta-time we had was a big discussion about the teamcredits because the teamcredits vary so mutch if user with many credits do a "Teamhopping". If i remember right end of discussion was to make a seperated teamstatistic. all user get all of their credits and the teams get seperated only the credits crunched during the usermemberships! so user and teams dont loose credits if a user changes team. Our Team is a small one and the last days a user left us. We allso lost lots of credits! how could this be?
