Posted 10 Jan 2009 by Sylvan Post: I hope that I am not asking a question that has been answered incessantly, but just what do I copy to migrate my data from X:/Program Files/BOINC/lots of stuff to the default data location for 6.4.5? Do I just copy the subcontents of the projects directory, or does the projects directory have to be present as the top level folder in the new location. Sylvan |

Posted 22 Aug 2006 by Sylvan Post: I have upgraded to 5.4.11 to get around McAfee's annoying intrusions, but BOINC Manager still does not connect automatically. It cheerfully connects both to localhost and to my names host when asked politely. Any suggestions? I love replying to my own messages! :-) I noticed an interesting behaviour. Apparently this failure to connect only happens on boot. If, after connecting manually, I cause boincmgr.exe to exit gracefully, then restart it, it connects automatically. Even if I kill the processes abruptly through the task manager, they will still connect when restarted. I hope this helps. I am running XP, SP2 and McAfee newest POS. Sylvan |
