Ageless beat me to this one.

Micheal, when your referring to projects, you do mean work unit/task correct..???

please tell what projects are running.

Correct. At the time of the first post, Poem was running on the two processors, and S@Home was the odd wu. No S@H is running on the two processors, and another (waiting to run) S@H is using 50% cpu.

I closed Boinc and the nothing changed in the Activity Monitor, so I Quit Boinc and the two runing wu's closed, but the Waiting To Run wu jumped to 97% cpu. I've restarted Boinc and it's back to three wu's using cpu - 75-75-45%

While you folks ponder, I'll restart the computer and see if that helps...

Hello

This concerns Boinc on my 24" iMac, 2.8 Ghz. Looking at my Activity Monitor, the two projects currently running are using about 70% of each of the two cpu's. But it also shows that another project (waiting to run) is using 45%. Why is a project waiting to run using the cpu?

Thank you, in advance.

Les Bayliss is speaking of external "account managers" like BOINCStats BAM! as opposed to the local BOINC manager on your machines.

Gruß,
Gundolf

PS: You can also "Stop using <insert your account manager>..." from BOINC manager's Advanced menu and then detach locally.

That's it. Went to BoincStatsBAM and Detached.

Thank you.

Hello to all...

I run BOINC on three machines - 2 Macs and an HP laptop running Vista. Everything is fine on the Mac's, but the Vista machine won't let me detach from any projects - the "Detach" button is grayed out. Any ideas?

Hello to all...

For some reason Boinc seems to be ignoring S@H. Rosetta is running on both processors, and Boinc never switches to S@H. My "Host Total" hasn't changed in 15 days, and my "Host Average" continues to decline. I tried re-setting the project to no avail. Any ideas?

Thank you, in advance...

Hello

When I click on the link (in Boinc) to go to my projects' home (ie - "Your Results"), Boinc first opens Adobe GoLive, then opens the page in Safari. Where do I change this? I'm on a 24' iMac, OS 10.4.10.

Thank you in advance...

I recently restarted and kernel_task went back to its normal 3-5% and hy BOINC projects are back up to 60-70%. I got a reply from the Apple Forum and someone has a the same problem on a PowerBook occasionally, and he restarts and then rebuilds permissions.

Thanks, again.

One of those "why didn't I think of that?" moments. Thank you.

A "kernel_task" is using 100+% and the two SETI clinents are still at 15-25%.

Thanks again.

I watch the Activity Monitor (CPU Activity) on my Mac - G4 Dual 533. Up until today, both processors would be occupied by mostly "% Nice" and BOINC would run two projects at the same time, both using 60-80% of their CPU. Today for some reason, one CPU is occupied almost entirely by "% System" while the other CPU is 50% occupied by "% Nice", and BOINC projects are only using 15-30% of my CPUs. I've tried restarting BOINC, and restarting my computer, and no change. Any ideas out there?

Thank you.
