| 1) Message boards : Server programs : Request for BOINC Dataset Access for PhD Research on Resource Allocation
Message 115560 Posted 6 Mar 2025 by shdinde |
Hi My name is Shailesh, and I am a PhD researcher student. My research focuses on improving resource allocation mechanisms in volunteer computing environments, specifically within social community cloud frameworks. As part of my study, I aim to analyze real-world task distribution and worker participation patterns to design more efficient and secure resource allocation strategies. BOINC’s extensive dataset on task execution and worker contributions would be highly valuable for my research. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to access relevant anonymized data, such as: Task execution logs (resource requirements, completion times, failures). Worker participation details (device capabilities, frequency of contribution). Any historical data related to resource allocation and efficiency. The dataset will be used strictly for academic purposes, and I am happy to comply with any data-sharing agreements or ethical requirements. Additionally, I would be glad to share my findings with BOINC to contribute to the improvement of its resource management processes. Please let me know if this request is feasible and any further steps required. I appreciate your time and consideration and look forward to your response. |
