Mass rollout of BOINC what is the best option
(Message 4822)
Posted 22 Jun 2006 by rboinc Post: We are currently proofing a requirement with our Company 'Serco'. The requirement from Serco is to design a custom screen saver using VB6 and 1) the best way is probably to use something like Windows Systems Management Server (SMS) software and deploy it from a server, assuming there is active directory. |

Basic server side question of how boinc works
(Message 4816)
Posted 21 Jun 2006 by rboinc Post: Hello. I was wondering, if this is how boinc works. Lets say I have the boinc server set up and running. I have an application that is computationally intensive. If i add this application to the projects database of my boinc server, clients that are connected to my project will start to do some computation on that application. Is that how it works? Does the server automatically "break" the application into pieces so that clients can compute different parts of the application? Just trying to understand the big picture here, thanks. |
