It’s very often the background system tasks that steal your resources - windows updates, file indexer, McAfee, etc.
Thanks. So used to Linux and typing, "top" in a terminal that shows everything I didn't think of that.

I think that this was issue in WIndows 7 but Windows 10 does not have that selection anymore. It shows all tasks by default.

SETI's website & message bored (pun intended) are slower than molasses being poured in the Antarctica winter..

Someone needs to get the water cannon out and give it a good cleaning.

Seems to be much better now.

I am getting this on Seti Forums: SETI@home is temporarily shut down for maintenance. Please try again later.
Is it resurrection or just a final spasm?

Note that Windows task manager by default does not show the GPU calculation load (this is at least in Win10, I assume Win11 is the same). There are 4 graph panels under Performance tab for GPU. On top left corner there is text what each panel is showing. You have to select Cuda from the list to see crunching load.

I don't run Windows, but if I remember correctly, the Suspend activity for gpu work . . . . or cpu work for that matter extends for only 60 minutes. Then reverts to active again.

The only way to make that permanent on a project is to suspend the project or suspend currently cached gpu tasks for the project and set NNT.

Snooze stops crunching only for 60 minutes. If you change crunching to not follow preferences but to suspend GPU/CPU crunching that suspension is until you change it back to based on preferences or always.
Suspending any task for a project disables the work requests for that project. You don't need to set NNT for that project.

There are also GSM desktop phones. They look like old fixed phones but are operating like a mobile phone. They have an antenna and a battery so they can be operated also during power cuts. Normally you keep them connected to the power line.

First you have to identify which subproject (application) of Einstein tasks the ones that you want to do belong to. Then at Einstein web site you go to your project preferences and select only that application. See what preference set (General/Home/Work/School) your computer is set to and modify the preference settings to accept only that application.
APPLICATIONS
Run only the selected applications
[] Binary Radio Pulsar Search (Arecibo)
[] Binary Radio Pulsar Search (Arecibo, fast)
[] Binary Radio Pulsar Search (MeerKAT)
[] Gamma-ray pulsar search #5
[] Gamma-ray pulsar binary search #1 (GPU)
[] Gravitational Wave search O3 All-Sky
[] Multi-Directional Gravitational Wave search on O3 (GPU)
[] Multi-Directional Gravitational Wave search on O3 (CPU)

Select this setting also to NO:
Allow non-preferred apps:
YES | NO
If no work for selected applications are available, accept tasks from other applications?

Check the setting on Boinc manager how you are allowing the GPU to run. The GPU has settings to run: Always, Based on preferences or Never. You should use Based on preferences.
