system requirements
(Message 5602)
Posted 12 Sep 2006 by Gunther Clasen Post: Using a not-the-latest-and-greatest computer (and an analog modem connection), it would be really really great if people could add a section "system requirements" on their main page. It is very annoying when I become interested in a project and find out only much later that my computer and/or modem is too slow. I know this has nothing to do with you. But it would be nice if you could encourage the maintainers of all the project's web pages to include this information. |

BOINC Manager :
running boinc on two machines
(Message 4785)
Posted 20 Jun 2006 by Gunther Clasen Post: Simply by having one lockfile per WU, for example. Or you could run one manager capable of spreading WU other machine(s). How do other people do this? I can't believe I am the only one with more than one machine at home willing to run boinc. |

BOINC Manager :
running boinc on two machines
(Message 4783)
Posted 20 Jun 2006 by Gunther Clasen Post: I have a small network (2 linux computers) sharing their /home directory. I can run boinc on either one or the other, but not both. Yet that seems a logical thing to do when both computers are switched on. How do I do this? |
