The 8.0.2 version of the BOINC client has been released for all platforms. Download it <a href=https://boinc.berkeley.edu/download.php>here</a>. Um, since the instructions don't take into account the fact that apt-key has been fully deprecated, Ubuntu 22.04+ users can't download it using them. Maybe CLI experts would have a workaround, but many of us are just average Joes (that's why we picked Ubuntu or one of its variants). I know this issue has already been raised, but in spite of a correction to the web page being promised and the discussion being closed back in March 2024, nothing has happened. Please? We may not be as numerous as Mac or PC users, but it's amazing how many work units are sent out to Linux machines. |
