| 1) Message boards : Questions and problems : Suspend not working properly
Message 114076 Posted 28 May 2024 by Driver86 |
I'm having the same issue, approximately half of the active tasks continue to run when the computer is in use. This has happened with both Einstein@home and World Community Grid. The first time it happened with WCG I suspended that project and all the other projects worked as they should. So at first I thought it was just WCG that was the problem. Now Einstein@home has started doing it making me think the problem is not the projects but maybe BOINC. I might add that this PC was running Windows 11 on an AMD Ryzen 9 5900X CPU and was upgraded to an AMD Ryzen 9 5950X. The reason I mention this is because I never encountered tasks continuing to run with the 5900X, only after I switched to the 5950X did the issue start. Makes me wonder if the problem could be somehow related to the number of cores and processors. |

I meant this web site did not find my account not SETI. I was forced to create a new account on this web site in order to post here. Looking back at the original post I did not make that very clear sorry. |

I have been a member here running SETI@home and more recently other projects since 1999 and today I tried to log on and the web site said there was no account with my email. I created a new account with the same email but does this mean I have lost 25 years of work credit???? |

I'm having the same problem with Einstein@home and World Community Grid. Approximately half the tasks continue to run when the computer is in use. The only way to stop them is to exit BOINC. At first I thought it might be a problem with the project so I suspended WCG at which point it started doing the same thing with Einstein@home. I'm running BOINC ver 7.24.1 on Windows 11 Pro. |
