Try these

Do you have BOINC starting at boot? If so delete it from windows startup and reboot, that works for some people...

OK, the disconnected issue means that the BOINC manager is not able to talk to the BOINC daemon. Whether or not you are uploading/downloading/crunching at this point must be determined with the task list (I do not remember how to bring this up for 95/98/me).
The usual reason for this problem is that the BOINC manager is starting and trying to talk before the BOINC daemon is ready to listen. The usual fix is to wait a minute or two and see if connecting to "" or "localhost" or "127.0.0.1" works.
If the above fails, then there is a possibility that the BOINC daemon is not starting. If that is the case, then staring it manually may help. If it is installed as a service, run "net start BOINC" from a command line. If it is installed as single or multi user, cd to the install directory, and run BOINC.exe. If it is now running, you are the victim of a bug that has hopefully been fixed in 5.1.
If it is still not working, you have a problem with one of the XML files, and you will probably have to delete the directory and start over. (I have seen this problem much less with 5.1).
You might also go to the BOINC folder and look for this file "gui rpc auth.cfg" open with word pad and change the password to one you like make sure you enter a return at the end and then save and reboot computer then try the local host entry in select computer popup..... Check your firewall.
When all screens in Boinc Manager are blank, check that Boinc.exe is running. In Windows NT/2k/XP, rightclick on the Windows taskbar and choose Task Manager. Go to the processes tab and check if Boinc.exe is running. Check how many versions of Boincmgr.exe there are running.
If more than 2 of the latter, close them all down and restart one.
If Boinc.exe isn't running, please try a reboot of the computer first.
Close down BOINC.
Navigate to your Boinc directory.
Find the file called gui_rpc_auth.cfg, open it up with a word processor and delete password, then put a blank space followed by a carriage return, save file.
Then restart BOINC.
That will most probably fix it.

AM running a 840ee 3.2, 3 gig mem, HT enabled, XP pro, and ir runs all 4 very nicely. You will not get the same speed running all 4 as you would if you just ran 2, do not have any figures but as an example; if you run 2 WUs at 1 hr and four at 1 1/2 hrs, you will be a 1/2 ahead running 4....

If you only run one project on that computer it will not affect any other project. The preferences can only migrate if there are two or more projects on the same computer....
Say you have 5 computers and run 5 different projects,one for each computer as long as you never run 2 or more on any computer you are ok....
The cross project Ids should all be the same, this is how the third party stats site keep track of your credits....
It is set up that way to aid the people who have many computers running 3 or 4 or 5 or 6 projects per computer, because it is a lot of work to change on each one...

BOINC Enthused....

Sorry about thinking you were running CPDN I had a senior moment there lol;0)

At this point I am over my head, all I can say is you can go into the xml and reset the debt, both long and short to zero, or just let it run at the new connect to time and see if it clears up.
From what you posted it looks OK to but who knows... Keck know more than I do so his advise may be helpful.....

That sounds like a debt problem, so maybe something has corrupted the xml, I am not that familiar with the xml, so I will leave that for someone else, but you could try a repair or maybe a reinstall.

In my opinion there are a couple of items that are affecting the process 1. Slow computer 2. Running four projects 3. and this one could be the key, you do not run the computer all the time.
Boinc has a lot of items it looks at to determine how it will let the Applications process, one of which is the percent of time a computer is running, and the percentage of that time the project has been given. You have not indicated that you have received any error message about percent of time, so I think your problem is the the time est. and running a slow computer..

CPDN recommends at least and 800mhz for the slab and 1000mhz for the sulphur, so if you stop running CPDN I think that solves your problem...

Mr Fusion please list your computer speed and do you run 24/7?

If you have noticed the estimates of completion will change with each new batch of WUs that you down load, I have not bothered to keep track of this to see if the Devs have figured a way to keep it from changing....

How many projects are you connected to and what is the speed of your processor...

The following lists the basic rules for EDF and may shed some light on your situation.

Work Scheduler
EDF (earliest date first) is caused by:

1) A deadline within 24 hours.
2) A deadline within 2 * the connect time.
3) A failure of the Round Robin simulator to finish a result within 90% of its deadline.

A project not requesting work is caused by:
1) A host that is in NWF (no work fetch)
2) A project that has enough work on a host that has enough work.
3) A project that has a LTD that is negative enough.

NWF (no work fetch) is caused by:
1) A failure of the Round Robin simulator to get a result done within 90% of a deadline if the resource share of the next project to request work from is added to the Round Robin simulation.

Work will always be requested from somewhere, even if that somewhere has a very negative LTD and/or the host is in NWF (no work fetch) if there is a CPU that is idle and there is a network connection.

My comment to lower the connect to is just a basic starting place I used as many users have the connect to, set way to high....

This may work

If you get a message that states; cannot resolve host name, do the following;
Reboot or wait an hour or two to see if your ISP gets the DNS back to normal or flush the DNS by doing the following,
Start->Run, type cmd {enter}
type ipconfig /flushdns {enter}
wait for the broadcast (15 - 45 minutes)
try again.
