1) Message boards : Android : Crunching from battery on old Android (Message 111162)

I have the latest BOINC for Android (7.18.1) installed on several phones, each running a different version of Android, namely, 5, 8, 11, and 12. I know there are issues with crunching on battery in Android 9+, but I am experiencing trouble with it on the oldest phone, the one with Android 5. That phone is LG G2 Mini if that matters. It only runs tasks when plugged in, even though I have the battery checked as the power source, regardless of whether the screen is on or off. I have no such issues with any other phone. Does anyone have an idea what the issue might be and how to fix it? Thanks in advance.

(Apologies if this was addressed already, but I could not find it.)
In order to use my GPU on Windows 10, I recently uninstalled BOINC and reinstalled it without "Service install", as explained in wiki (https://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Installing_BOINC). From the task manager, it appears that BOINC is not running, and I am unable to start it -- running BOINC manager results (after system prompt about allowing changes to computer) in a message that it is unable to start BOINC client, and I should start the BOINC service. Once I try doing that, I get another message that "Windows could not start the BOINC service on Local Computer" together with "Error 1069: The service did not start due to a logon service." What should I do?
