I don't know what it is/was. But I scan my system routinely and this popped up immediately after I allowed GPU processing to commence. It was found in \boinc\projects\setiathome.berkeley.edu\cudart32_32_16.dll. The GPU process was seen to start in the BOINC manager, just before Norton killed it. Can someone shed some light on this? Does Norton see GPU processing as threatening behavior? |

Did a little checking and found the dll appears to be from NVIDIA, so it should be legitimate. Why did Norton kill it? |

More info. Sorry, I should have done this checking before I posted #1. Norton gives the origin as http://boinc2.ssl.berkeley.ed/sah/download_fanout/cudart32_32_16.dll And Norton says it was targeted for Threat name: WS.Reputation.1 |

WS.Reputation.1 is not malware, it is one of Norton's detection schemes based on a file's reputation, or lack thereof. If it is unknown, it may be seen as malicious (?) and removed. I'm going through the Symantec process of reporting a possible false positive. |

Just make sure you exempt Boinc and Boinc data folders from scan in the future. Don't expect anything to come from reporting false positive to AV companies. Boinc V 7.4.36 Win7 i5 3.33G 4GB NVidia 470 |

Thanks Aurora. I've set Norton to ignore my BOINC data directory. I have it on a separate HDD from the program, which is on an SSD. |
