This is problem from the past, it is still valid with 5.4.9. I use Boinc mnager to connects to clients protected with password. Once connected I can see client data. In the case I restart client, Boinc managers shows message "Would you like to try to connect again? YES/NO". When I select YES, manager never connects but shoes message "The password you have provided is incorrect, please, try again. OK".

As there was no dialog for password, it is clear that Manager have to remember password used for connection. It ignores password now and it is bug from my point of view.
