Which BOINC version?
Are you using boinccmd.exe with any command line options? If so which ones?
Are you trying to connect to a remote computer, without using the remote_hosts.cfg file?

my boinc version is the lasy 5.4.9 and i don't use commands line option. it is as when i installed it and i'm not trying to connect to a remote computer.... boinc runs in my simplce local computer with no particular option or configuration. I repeat, it is as when i installed it.

if this could help you: i use a firewall (jetico) and an antivirus (antivir personal edition) and the windows xp's firewall is disabled.

i think the rules into may firewall are correctly setted: if i do what i said in the last post, it works correctly until next rebooting
