There's an issue in the new version .27 that prevents you from connecting to the World Community Grid project. It throws out an error in relation to something concerning 'email_addr', which I'm assuming BOINC is looking for an email address rather than a username as the input (since WCG uses username for login, not email address). |

Yes, that was known already and is fixed in the replacement that we're testing at the moment. If you do need to add WCG at this time, you can do so using the BOINCCMD tool and the user's account key: boinccmd --project_attach www.worldcommunitygrid.org 0123456789abcdef0123456789abcdef You can find your account key when you scroll down on your main profile page at WCG. The strong account key allows access to your whole account, so be careful using it. Someone who has your weak account key can attach computers to your account, but can't log in to your account or to change it in any way. This is useful if you need to install BOINC on public computers, or if you want to let someone compute on your behalf without giving them access to your account. |

Yes, that was known already and is fixed in the replacement that we're testing at the moment. I see thanks, I'll just wait for that then. I'm using the older 7.2.42 version right now which is working perfectly fine until the fix is out to the public. |

You see, there is absolutely no point in having a go on me. I didn't know that the devs don't read the forums..... I find that strange though. Anyway: I bumped the request because a) I didn't know / wasn't told that it had been forwarded to the devs and that they don't read this forum, and b) because I was hoping this very basic function could be integrated in the then upcoming release version of BOINC. Still I don't understand how such basic functions haven't been integrated into BOINC from the very beginning of its development. Sorry if I got your post wrong - I found it offensive, and that pissed me off 'cause all I wanted to do was help. |

I am also having the "Not requesting tasks: don't need (CPU: job cache full; NVIDIA GPU: job cache full)" problem. This only appears to affect one of my projects. Is there a workaround, or is it just a matter of waiting till a new version is released? Thanks. Geoffrey |

Well, first of all, 7.4.36 is now released to the public. You should try that version to see if it fixes your issue. If it doesn't, you'll have to better-describe your issue. Do you currently have enough work to meet your buffer levels? You might try turning on <work_fetch_debug> in your cc_config.xml file, and then relay to us what the Event Log says whenever work fetch behaves in a way you do not expect. http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Client_configuration Regards, Jacob |
