Hello, I'm just wondering is there any way to cause results to be reported immediately after the status changes to Ready to Report. I need to know the pattern of job completion exactly, but, you know, every time last job on a host is reported after waiting for deferred time based on Report to Report scheduling (http://boinc-wiki.ath.cx/index.php?title=Ready_to_Report). Is there any way to force to report immediately? |

Nope, this is not supported due to the extra load on the project's servers generated. BOINC WIKI BOINCing since 2002/12/8 |

Interesting. But I do not see the difference between 'report immediately' and standard reporting. The first sends the result to the server as soon as the computation is finished, the second sends the result shortly before reaching the report deadline. So (assuming that both variants are sending the same amount of data to the project server) where is the difference now ? |

Nope, this is not supported due to the extra load on the project's servers generated. According to the official documentation it is supported. You just need to start the CC with the -return_results_immediately command-line option. I don't know whether it works. |

Nope, this is not supported due to the extra load on the project's servers generated. Official documentation is stale regarding that. This functionality went out of official BOINC CC somewhere in 5.1 development branch if I'm not much mistaken. The reason for dropping is that it's not a good thing. [edit] At least it's not a good thing to do it regularly (eg. by running BOINC CC in this mode). You can force an update using BOINC manager: Projects->Update [/edit] Metod ... |
