I'd like to suggest an update to the Energy Considerations page http://boinc.berkeley.edu/energy.php;

Running a PC soley to run BOINC (rather than turning it off) adds to the world's energy burden and therefore carbon dioxide emissions. But you can offset this by purchasing some or all of your electricity from environmentally friendly suppliers or sources.

Just be careful that the source really is environmentally friednly; Tasmania was trying to market sawdust from clear-felled ancient forest as a fuel for 'green' electricity to patch up the state's atrocious forestry policies.

My suggestion is to mention that one could ask his/her electricity provider if they lend power consumption meter to the customers so there's no need to buy and own one.
