Starting new thread. The old topic has been locked due to inactivity. It has been almost a year since the QMC@home/cleanmobility.now project was restarted with a new url, web site and testing began of new programs... There still is:
2) NO EXPORT OF STATS. 3) NO PUBLIC communication from the project Scientist / Administrators.

I have had many times during the past year when I've sure wished there was a forum for that project to try to get answers about issues I've had with tasks and its been very frustrating that there was no way to contact the project itself about issues. I would think that any project running on BOINC would be required to have a forum for its volunteers to contact the project about problems and issues, and to MAN IT and answer issues (some don't, frustratingly) in order to run projects on the system but I'm just a volunteer and don't make the rules. Anyway, I've aborted some jobs on this project because I couldn't get answers even after several hundred hours of work were put in. I'm very close to setting the status at no more work because of this issue. |

I dropped the project long ago, but will consider going back when I see some progress on the basic website features, and communication from the project founder. My Detailed BOINC Stats |

End of march this year I wrote an e-mail to Martin Korth, named on the page, and got a few days later an answer. I asked him why QMC@Home is so spare with informations and not listed in the official Project list. He wrote then, that they still have a few little problems but were looking forward to come complete and official back in the next few weeks.... Well, that was now 4 month ago. I do not know, when they'll really come back. |

I wrote to Martin Korth in July. Got the same kind of answer concerning minor issues to be solved and expected release of the project officially this summer... |

That's good news, we don't have to wait long now because Summer ends Sept. 22. |

That's good news, we don't have to wait long now because Summer ends Sept. 22. Yes, but WHICH YEAR? From a message dated 28 Jul 2013: A few days ago I sent Martin Korth (Project Scientist / Administrator) an email with several observations and questions about the web site and project/tasks: I want to check why I had 102,542 credits on 3rd May, and have the same amount now, despite crunching packets for them during that time. |

Apparently the new version of the project isn't running the server code to export credits yet. Boincsynergy (http://www.boincsynergy.com/stats/) says the last time they updated credits was 627 days ago. EDIT: FYI, while the stats sites say I have 1,134,443 credits, my BOINC manager on a machine that is attached to QMC says I have 1,141,172 credits so I am getting credits for the work units that I've run but the server isn't creating the file that the stats sites read to get the current credits. I had an email correspondence with Martin 6 months ago about a number of problems with the cleanmobility application:

It was 6 months ago. What is status now? I had the same type of problems at the beginning of this month. I finally aborted the WU after about 340 thousand seconds. I selected to not run the cleanmobility application and have since run a QMC@HOME-orca-alphabeta and it finished in less than 2 hours and got credit. One thing they might want to do is only distribute the cleanmobility work units to windows for a week or two starting a couple of days after patch tuesday since the monthly patches always seem to require a rebooot. -- David |

I just attached to the project (http://qmcathome.org). The first work unit (QMC@HOME 6.06 cleanmobility.now korth002001_54004374_0) will take about 3 days 16 hours on an i7-3770 (Win7 64-bit), with 5 more CPU cores on other BOINC projects and 2 cores supporting GPUs. I haven't seen a checkpoint in the first hour, but this machine runs 24/7 so I don't really need them much. The work looks to be interesting, even if they are poor at feedback on their site: http://pubs.rsc.org/en/content/articlepdf/2014/cp/c4cp04338c |
