I'd like to install BOINC and participate in SETI@Home or Rosetta@Home. The wiki,

boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Installing_BOINC_on_Fedora

only seems to be updated for Fedora 17. I've tried to follow the steps, but I can't get past the part where it says to "enter systemctl enable boinc-client.service" if you have fedora 17. When I try to enter that, I get "No such command". Is there some other step I must do if I want to install BOINC in Fedora 20? I can launch the BOINC manager, but I can't add a project. Thanks for your help.

I've got it running on Fedora 20 on 4 systems, my home server, a couple of old Dell laptops and an old HP Pavilion notebook. Works fine. No problems at all.

systemctl needs to be run as root. Either login as root, su to root or use sudo.

The way you quote what you are trying to do is a bit confusing. You have the word enter inside the quotes. Enter is not part of the command. The command is:

systemctl enable boinc-client.service

If for some reason this still does not work, systemctl is in /usr/bin. That directory must be in your shell's path. Strange if it is not there already. So try fully qualifying the command - ie. /usr/bin/systemctl.

Hope this helps.
