I have about 200 iMacs that run BOINC while not in production use, they are all running 10.9.2 Mavericks. and periodically and randomly, they reboot into nothing but a grey screen. The only way to get them out of it is to reboot into safemode then they all work fine.

this did not start happening until I installed BOINC,

I have 200 more machines running the exact same config without BOINC installed and do not have this issue.

Can someone look over the script that creates the daemon for BOINC and validate that it is truly Mavericks Compatible? It looks like the script has not been touched for a while.

Let's clear something first.

When you say "periodically and randomly, they reboot into nothing but a grey screen" do you mean:

They every now and then reboot without anybody requesting it and then end up in this gray screen.

or

When somebody requests a reboot, they sometimes end up in this gray screen and other times reboot just fine.

If the first one, sounds like overheating.
