I had downloaded the latest git version a couple weeks ago to build the newer client, since the Fedora 20 setup was setup to run in a different way that I had run it on past system. Then it compiled with no issues, and I was able to use the client from the git, and the manager from the fedora 20. Today, I downloaded the git again, and the compile was gettign an error about offsetof not being defined for gui_rpc_client.cpp in lib . Added #include <stddef.h> and then it got past that point, but then got an error about the same thing about gui_rpc_server.cpp in the client directory. The compile went thru, but the built version was the same 7.3.0 x86_64-pc-linux-gnu. So, not sure why these errors came up. Tried to login on the git page, but it didn't take id, and clicking on register option gave an error, so came here to see if there is a better place to report these issues. Just got 20 new i7 machines for my classroom, and set them up with the Fedora 20 and Boinc.

Thanks.

Best report this stuff on the BOINC development email list, at http://www.ssl.berkeley.edu/mailman/listinfo/boinc_dev. The list needs registration.

The link you gave fails, and takes me to this.

This is somewhat embarrassing, isn’t it?

It seems we can’t find what you’re looking for. Perhaps searching, or one of the links below, can help.

I was on the git page, and tried to register, and it gave an error, so not sure what is going on with the pages.

I think Jord meant http://lists.ssl.berkeley.edu/mailman/listinfo/boinc_dev - that version is showing for me.

That's what I meant, but now I wonder where I got that other link from. I checked my bookmarks, but there it lists the *lists.* address. Sorry for the confusion.

Ah, found the culprit. It's bad links in one of the sticky threads by Kathryn. Will ask her to adjust those.
Edit: Kathryn has adjusted the links. Thanks Kat!

You can report simple stuff like this directly to David just as well.

Those two files have been under work recently so that explains why the code compiled fine earlier but not now.

Just so that you know, in BOINC's development process master is best considered unstable at all times. If you want to compile a client for yourself you should checkout the code from one of the client_release tags, preferably one that matches whats on the download page unless you are interested in beta testing.
