Please consider going to the Climate@Home forums, and reporting the problem there. This forum here, is the BOINC program forums (projects section), not a project's actual forums (where problems should be reported). |

He is probably between a rock and a hard place. Since he can not login to Climate@Home he can not enter a new or reply to an existing forum entry, Just like this system. Its to bad that you can not spare a little time to assist a fellow boincer. Its no wonder that we get frustrated with this kind of rely, when you gurus give pre-made answers and/or assume we know more than we do. If we did we wouldn't be looking for assistance. I believe if Jacob had thought about this problem he would have came to the same conclusion that I did. Try setting up another new account with a different email address so that you can enter a notice into the form and once the password/email is corrected. delete the new account and follow the procedure for forgot password for the old account. |

Thank you, idahofisherman, you are right: can't restore password -> can't log in -> can't post in the forums about email system problems -> can't restore password... I was hoping that someone who already is in the project will inform the project administration about that problem. It seems that an account cannot be deleted, so I did not want to create an additional account. |

You cannot delete an account yourself, but for an admin this isn't a problem. (mysql> DELETE from [table name] where [field name] = 'username';) |

I apologize. I was actually trying to be helpful. The suggestion of going to the project's forums using a new account, to report the problem, is probably the best approach (Thanks idahofisherman). And I see Nikolay has now done that. http://climateathome.com/climateathome/forum_thread.php?id=124 I hope they fix it, but I wouldn't hold my breath. There are many unresolved problems at the Climate@Home project that are being ignored. Thanks, Jacob |
