The BOINC app for Android is great except for one thing... my device only processes in like .01 second chunks! The problem is the "battery level" setting. Its too simple. I can only chose to set processing to run "above" a certain point. The default is 90. What happens is this: As soon as my device hits 90% battery BOINC starts. Which immediately drops my battery to below 90% and BOINC stops. The battery begins to charge again hitting 90% and BOINC starts. Almost immediately the device drops below 90% and BOINC stops. I can sit here and watch my brand new Nexus 7 tablet do this all day long. It can't be good for the battery or the tablet. A more intelligent system would yield longer processing times and less strain on hardware. High setting 99% Low setting 80% On a full battery BOINC would run until the battery hits 80% and stop like normal. BOINC would restart again when the battery hit 99% and drain the battery to 80% before its stopped again. This would stop the super-short processing times that my devices are suffering from and I believe it would help with the over all life of the device. |

You best register to the BOINC Android Testing Google Group and repost your post there. That's where the BOINC for Android developers read and answer. |

Why not just drop the battery setting from the default to 60 or 70%? |
