Hi,

I have been running BOINC for a good long while with no problems. Currently, I am using BOINC Manager 5.2.13 under XP Pro.

Suddenly, on Sunday, when I start BOINC, I get an error box with the title:

Boinc Manager - Connection Failed

When I tell it to try again, the connection continues to fail. I am also running BOINC on a second computer on my home wireless network, and it appears to be running properly.

I tried doing a repair install, which did not help. Suggestions?

Ok. It has been handled. But, as of a week or 10 days ago though today, BOINC still cannot connect on my desktop. So, it is just a bouncing BOINC screen saver that does no work. When is the 5.4.X version going to be available, assuming that will solve the problem?

As an aside, I also have BOINC running on my wife's laptop, which is on the same wireless network as my desktop. It runs fine. Maybe my wife didn't install some MS update that I did. I don't know.

If you wish to try the Beta version (it's fairly stable), here is the link to the download page. V5.4.9 is the latest one.

that said I an other boinc testers are running it without any "showstoppers" found yet (maybe a proxy issue).
