On the official wiki, it says the best way to start a server is to download and run the boinc server vm. http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki/VmServer I downloaded the VM but there was nothing installed on it. I followed the steps but after I logged in as root and cd ~/boinc-trunk. I got the error The location does not exist. Please help. |

On the official wiki, it says the best way to start a server is to download and run the boinc server vm. The directory must be boinc_trunk. But this one is very old if you got ubuntu. |

The VM I downloaded is debian-6-boinc-server_trunk. Could that be the problem? |

When I logged in as boincadm I was able to start the process. Now I get the sql error (1045, "Access denied for user root@localhost")when I try to create the test_app. It won't let me login as boincadm or root to grant rights. |

I finally tested it. Still no luck. I was able to start sql in safe mode flushed the privilages reapplied the permissions and after I start sql in normal mode, I still can't connect using -u root or even -u boincadm. |

There is a readme file in the compressed archive. All passwords are in this file. When creating a project the ServerIntro page should be helpful too. |
