Still up here but it is sluggish :-( That is expected. Main and Beta were down. Perhaps 5-10 minutes? Long enough I noticed, and checked and work failed to report. |

Ain't Boinc grand :-) |

There's more than 2 projects available :-) Why I think Boinc is grand is because it is so much better than the usual forms of social media. Everything has a date & timestamp :-) For someone berating "smart" phone users, well: 1 minute to shake cobwebs out of one's head 4 minutes to get dressed 4 minutes for ablutions 4 minutes to make a cuppa Total 13 minutes & then online :-} Think Hollywood should do an updated remake of James Stewart's film but retitle it... "It's a sad life" :-) |

That has crept in via the back door. Yes & what a back door allowing them to end up being used as personal blogs :-) |

Tonight in the Octagon: Sapphire NITRO+ Radeon RX 470 8 GB versus Ghost Recon Wildlands Open Beta. My new videocard is winging its way to me now, it'll be here this afternoon. Which means I'll have to uninstall my present Sapphire 7870, get rid of its drivers, cleanup a little and uninstall the old card, in with the new. And then hope everything works first time around. Install the RX drivers, set up my monitors again, and test it out on the open beta of the aforementioned game. It shows in the setup how much video memory you use. It's a nice beta, but still not my game of choice. |

It's here. Gonna be fun... only problem I have is that Speedfan doesn't see the fan speed of the GPU. Unknown why. |

No, that one's going into my TV server, so we can watch things at at least 1080p. The present HD6850 is struggling. Ghost Recon on Ultra, using 4.8GB of memory looks awesome. The Elder Scrolls however have flickering grass. According to users on the forums that due to the drivers, so I'm uninstalling the 17.2.1s and going to install the 17.1.2s instead. Fun. |

Looks like the Berkeley SETI website is mired in molasses. Can't get any of the web pages to load and they just time out. |

Looks like the Berkeley SETI website is mired in molasses. Can't get any of the web pages to load and they just time out. No problems noticed for me in last 5 minutes. Just loaded the Cafe SETI portion of SETI forums with no problems or lag. Could it be remotely related to https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=81088 a "phising attack"?? |

Looks like the Berkeley SETI website is mired in molasses. Can't get any of the web pages to load and they just time out. That spear fishing message portends bad things. The website is at least responding now most of the time. Still very slow with lots of HTTP errors and "servers not responding" messages in the log. |

Yes, this is what I was seeing too. Seems to have cleared up quite a bit now, though. |
