I am now officially surprised. Having said that, it's very close to 24 hours since it started, so whoever got up early yesterday to stop them (Jeff?), perhaps got up early to start them?

Edit - scheduler is now accepting reports, very slowly. I'll be doing 'report only' (with NNT set) until it's woken up a lot more.

Ah well, the SSP is frozen though....
This is going to be a 12 hours recovery, at the minumum.

Edit: And Beta is back(ish) also.
Edit2: Still server version 715 at Beta.

Seti main was up this earlier this morning and now it's down. Are the guys at CERN screwing thing up again? I thought they learned last time this happened.

My computer, all by itself, while I was out getting plumbing bits and pieces, for new dishwasher in a different location, managed to report 50 tasks and got one AP.
Progress.

It seems that both SETI main & beta are both entirely down, can't get to either site. Attempted to update my machine and the event log stated that the site is down for maint.

Just tried to goto the SETI forums and got message that it was down. Seems like it has been yoyoing since it first was resurrected from the 24 hour plus outrage.

Time for some adult liquid refreshments. Hopefully the doctor can heal what ails the sick patient.

Too soon..... I just got a "project down" message.

I am going to NNT and let the backup projects have another night of it.

They are slowly starting to give some WU to DL. Will take a while to feed all the hungry hosts.

With the problems that Seti is having I will make the obvious prediction that Tuesday's outage will be of epic proportions.

1) What should we be prepared to sacrifice to keep the outrage under 24 hours?

2) If the outrage goes past 25 hours, what additional sacrifices or rituals should we make then?

Eric says (new news item): "We'll be doing a full duration outage ... tomorrow."

Unfortunately, I won't be able to join you in the ceremonies - my branch of the outrage pub chain is ... having an outage! Three days off to recover from Christmas, I reckon. I've laid in a small case of emergency supplies, but I'd better remember the neighbours - no howling at the moon, I'm afraid.

As the clock gets closer to 7am in Berkeley, are we ready for the full duration outage to reorganize both database machines.

I'm not, but I'm of the persuasion, that if it hasn't happened yet it's too early to worry, and if it has happened it is too late to worry.

It is 7 AM in Berkeley... SETI is stil up and the replica server has caught up. Now to wait for the super duper grand mal outrage to start.

It hasn't caught up, it has been disabled for several hours.

exactly right. replica is not caught up, just turned off. I expect the stats for tasks and such as viewed from the website is now coming from the master instead of the replica like it normally would.
