ohh right , can't really try it down Felixstowe , could always tie a rope onto the Harwich to Hook ferry when we go over this year for the Belgium GP again :-) ( but rather be in the bar on the ferry ;-) )

Yes, just as I was answering that guy in the help desk, with his Ryzen CPU and his system shut downs. Luckily I was checking his system specs when I noticed I couldn't and so luckily didn't lose my whole big post.
It's now in Notepad++ to be finished later.

My number 2 machine has been playing up lately crashing and restarting for no apparent reason.

Then on Saturday pressing the power button resulted in an amber flashing light instead of a steady blue (it's a Dell XPS 420)

So a quick look online and it is usually a PSU issue. These Dell's use standard PSU config, so I tried the old "green wire to any black", nothing.

Deep sigh and peer into dusty savings piggy bank. The standard one is 375 Watts so I treated it to a Corsair VS 550 for £37.49 from Amazon

Got it this afternoon, fitted it and bingo power again. Let it run for a bit and then thought lets get some WU's to see if it can handle real work.

Of course it is Tuesday, however as yesterday was a Bank Holiday here, I have been doing all the "Monday" things with my dad.

Oh well hopefully it won't keep crashing now!

PS My printer seems to have decided it has had enough as well.

Our " family " printer has started " playing silly buggers " Bernie think the cause was a win update ( run win 7 home & pro here ) everything else works wi fi on it scan / fax etc but to print got roound that by using a usb cable to the printer .
Think you run win 10 but might be the same thing , sounds similar but could just be a coincidence

I have an HP 950C that keeps doing that, it's likely the rubber rollers on the paper transport mechanism have worn smooth. I just push the paper stack a bit harder into it and it usually picks a sheet up in the end :-))
I remember that we used to need to keep a matchbox near the office Gestetner - no matches, just the box. And not safety matches, either - proper sandpaper, to freshen up the rubber pad on the paper-pusher. There's evidently some technology they've still not got to work properly.
