Yep!! 1975-2000. Saw it all from a government Dept through to privatisation. Strowger, Crossbar, TXE4A, Systems X & Y, Axe10 etc. Roller coaster ride. The rubbish Bonfield years and the failed Concert in the USA, through to Project Sovereign in 1990 that finished the company as worth working for. Legendary breakfasts at Studd Street, before they scrapped BT Catering. They were good times, and the workforce respected Sir Iain Vallance as one of their own. Openreach now is a pale imitation.

1980-2008. Old Nortel PBX here, with Nortel direct, US West, Nextel and Sprint. Infancy of the PBX market till its demise in favor of just another app on some server ... Was a great business while it lasted.

Don't forget Mitel. Two ex BT engineers Mike and Terry started up a PBX company in America/Canada and it's still going! BT bought in and sold out at some point.

Remember them well, and they gave us fits at Nortel for a while. Never managed to become a major force here in the US, except in selected markets.

The odds are stacked against you Mark. One of these days you will get perma-banned from both here and Seti. It's just a case now of when not if. I'm not even sure if you have any real control of it any more. The few friends you have left are sad at watching a slow trainwreck, because that is what it basically is. You may have a brief respite over at the WOW blog at present, but that is a once off.

Jord has been very patient with you, remarkably so, I can't blame him at all for toughening up. If you really really can't help what you do, then time to get support and advice. And as usual, even though we have been at odds now and again, I thank you Jord, for supporting the truth of the matter.

It's got nothing to do with the person Mark, but all to do with your unsubstantiated threat in his direction that he's going to be perma-banned here and at Seti when he continues in the way he does.

All I said is that we don't perma-ban regular people (*) here at the BOINC forums, that goes for you, for Mark, even for Gary Charpentier (opposing his self named new name), for everyone who isn't a commercial spammer.

Saying that doesn't mean I like or dislike Mark, or you, or anyone else on here any more or less than I did than prior to my statement.

(*) Edit: We did perma-ban one person from here who wasn't a spammer, but that was because he went berserk moments after I made him a moderator, and he went all-out against a project administrator. Is when Rom perma-banned him and his 15 new accounts.
