I must have hit the internet connection key

UK mobiles have a key for that? You sure you didn't back it up into 'the cloud'? (queue GTA V commercial Cloud Computing)

Canada just elected a new Prime Minster, and although he wasn't my first choice, for some reason I'm not that unhappy.

Not exactly... well not mine anyway. It's the same key you press to delete or go back to a prior menu. Which is fine if you have something to delete or a menu to go back to, but if you haven't (and I didn't) it connects you to the internet, which as the screen is about an inch square, is not worth doing, which is why I don't... usually. As to the cloud... I don't know because as far as I know - I only have access to those gloomy ones sometimes... like now for instance...

:)

edit @Es: It's better than what you had by miles!! Well done Canada :)

another edit: and now I've just stepped on a map pin with a barefoot...

Ah, you found the white hair. I've alerted the hazmat team, they'll approach your building shortly. Don't panic. It'll all be OK in the end.

Now for a fun topic it seems that Einstein is off line!
One could think about having a panic attack.

Well, the kitties are crunching up their Seti caches, save for my top rig, which has gone down and refuses to reboot properly.
Meowsigh, looks like another weekend project.

Well, just pulled up the earthquake map for California, http://preview.tinyurl.com/obpanzq 1925 worldwide quakes last 7 days, 1085 in California or more than 1/2 of all quakes worldwide. We are in the process of sliding off into the sea!

Oh my :( That's a lot of prolonged grumbling from beneath your feet :(( Crossing all my bits on your behalf is all I can do. I do hope it helps.

On the bright side - an anniet first! Yes people - a post lost for all time due to an einstein outrage. That had me so flabbergasted I forgot to hit the back arrow... never mind... I will improve it... from memory :)

There was some program on the history channel last month and they said it isn't California that we should be worried about but rather Oregon/Washington region that would most like have the next major quake.

Can't remember the name of the program but they said the fault line in that region was more likely to have a major displacement .

Why yes those of us who inhabit the upper left coast live on the cutting edge.

Oh that would be a subduction event on the Juan de Fuca plate. Yes, much of the world would need to worry about that tsunami. I'm sure measurable in the Thames.

Yes... well... living by the sea was always one of my dreams. I've long suspected however that if it happens, it will be more like in it, and brief.

The odd thing is that the tsunami would barely affect Puget Sound they think. Our greater concerns are earthquakes and Mt. Rainier erupting, that would probably take out Tacoma with the lahars.

I would be sad to see anything happen to the Outlet mall in Tulalip.
