I knew damned well what he was talking about. And it seems that the joke fell on some really deaf ears there.

So after spending last week literally standing in raw sewage, I come over to my happy thread and find it backed up with sewage too!

Just so you know, beer is good for cleaning drain pipes because of the yeast, so as there seems to have been over consumption creating the mess, perhaps we will use the rest of the stock to scrub the sewer pipe so it drains faster. Of course that will mean we are out on Tuesday!

Oh, and at work, I'm not done literally standing in sewage, the plumber got his hydro jet head caught in the pipe under the city street, well actually state highway. Digging commences as soon as he has permits.

We didn't use Ricardo's brother in laws cousin, who came recommended and wanted to start with jackhammer and backhoe. That was the tenant. They had Ricardo come out who couldn't clear it, he called his brother in law Franco, who couldn't clear it, he called his cousin, who has a license, and said dig and I won't give a flat price.

We used the decent ones who have been in business a long time. In 25 years this is only the third time they have gotten one stuck, so yes crap happens. [pun very much intended] BTW his tool head is several times what he was charging for the job and the 500 foot high pressure hose he had to cut isn't chump change either. I know he didn't want to get it stuck. And the three hours he tried to get it out, his time, not mine, shows it. It really got stuck.

If his light hand dig and take a section off and pull doesn't work then a backhoe with an extendable stick to go down the 30 feet will be needed. May anyway because there are a bunch of ficus roots in the pipe and a CIP liner may not repair it.

Oh, can I kill the idiot in the city who planted the ficus trees?!! Unfortunately he is likely already dead of old age. Hope it was cancer and he suffered. Well, not really, but that is what his trees are doing to the sewer.

Can really quite old mobile/cell phones get bugs? All of my everything has vanished from mine :/ Not a sausage of a contact number, either on the sim or in the phone itself. Nor some very special messages I was keeping for sentimental reasons :(((

I turned it off so it wouldn't alert my mother-in-law to the fact I didn't lose it *hang head in shame* which is what I told her earlier this year - mainly because she doesn't understand the technology so thinks SHE HAS TO SHOUT REALLY LOUDLY into her phone whenever she rang me on my mobile. As she's also of a shouty temperament, it got a bit too much when I was feeling a tad poorly. So it's sort of a punishment I suppose for deceiving her - but it seems a little harsh to me :/ I do have a landline with an answer machine for her to abuse... Anyway, when I turned it back on, I must have hit the internet connection key, and that's when everything went distinctly pear-shaped.
