Just in case, use three mattresses and 17 pillows.

You know its Tuesday when the riff-raff arrive.

I've a got a squirrel hanging on the wall outside my kitchen window going nuts. I think it decided my cat was a threat, so I've bought her inside until it gets over itself.

It won't go away, and this picture doesn't convey just how angry this squirrel is. :(

Well, if it hangs around too long; you could always use a squirt gun and shoot it with water. It might run away then...

Ah yes, the joys of tree rats.
I'd offer my pellet gun, but I'd probably take out the window in the process :)
And I need all the pellets to combat the rabbits around here ... which are equally nasty.

Actually, that's pretty much what happened. Mr 99 came home to find me trapped and terrified in the house by the angry squirrel and squirted it with the garden hose.

Some People .....

So I'm sitting in a fave place and they are having a fundraiser for youth sports, I had to wait for a table on a Tuesday early evening.

Across the way is seated a family of five. They carp about the menu, Mom isn't really hungry and tells Dad only a salad. I don't think American food is what the parents like. They order. He gets a burger and she gets a cobb salad, kids burgers. Food arrives. She picks at her salad and doesn't like it. Not sure what but was in it, but something she didn't like. Never mind the menu listing every ingredient! Complains and moans, manager arrives. So they take it back and bring a burger. Well that isn't good either, sounded like their either was or wasn't pink in the meat. Manager again. They remake the burger; apparently he comps them. As soon as he is four steps away they high five each other. He brings a free basket of fries and the second replacement meal. She wanders off to the restroom while the replacement burger gets cold. She eats half and moans more. They do take the other half in a to go box. Kids wolfed down their food without complaint and Dad seems to enjoy his.

As I'm on my way out, I let the waitress know about the high five. I know she gives great service, in a place that prides itself on service, and likely isn't going to get a tip. She says thanks and says she will tell the manager. They won't be pulling that again at this restaurant. And remember this was a fundraiser where part of the take was going to charity!

Sad.

Sad thing, they could probably do it once a week, and most establishments will go along ...

Is it good? Spin off series can be a bit hit and miss sometimes, but its viewing figures for the first episode were impressive.

I liked it, but a lot of others who like "The Walking Dead" just couldn't get into it. Not enough Zombies or killing of them.

It takes place at the very beginning so people haven't seen any or aren't sure what to make of the grey eyed people, or how to stop them.

Just did a bit of research, and unless I sign up for BT TV by next autumn, I suspect I'll have to wait for it to come out on DVD. I like the sound of it though. People, be it pre or post zombie apocalypse, are far more fascinating and W-A-A-A-A-A-Y more scary... in my view :) although ES may disagree when it comes to squirrels :) Thanks for letting me know about it, Zalster :)

edit@Es could it have been a formerly traumatised squirrel, do you think?

Yes I know. Some people are just criminal, and they just taught their kids that crime pays.

Do you have a local trading standards? If so report the incident to them and they will circulate all local food outlets. Send a copy to the local Chamber of Commerce, and a copy to the local press. Also send the Manager a link to here, he could print a copy and put it in the window. Naming and shaming works wonders.

All depends how angry you feel about it.

Well, I thought about outing them a bit more, but the three school age children with them would be the ones who would face the bulling. It is their parents who need the shaming. So perhaps the server or manager will do a write up on a worst customers site. https://www.google.com/search?q=worst+customers+stories&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

Oh, I didn't stay long enough to know if they paid cash or card. If the latter the restaurant knows their name.

Oh, if I was really mad, I'd report them to Child Protective Services for that excellent example of good parenting. I'm more amused and jaw drop than upset.

LOL Chris!!! You are so charming!!! Perhaps you did not know that Gary lives in a very large metropolitan area. I can assure you that his "home town" has stuff going on all the time that is (alas and alack) more "newsworthy" than people with poor manners.

Things are different in rural Wisconsin, though. Silly stuff makes the news all the time. One year we visited the banner headline was "Nine people in the county have the flu!!!" My in-laws live in a very small town and traffic violations are reported in their local paper. Not only are they reported, they name names!!! (This is how my mother-in-law finds out if my father-in-law has been speeding.)

True enough. The population of San Diego County is what, 3.1 million?

Let's give Chris a break. He only lives in the greater London area.... NOT in LA.

Must be culture. There is a rag called the Los Angeles Times that prints news with a circulation around 1/2 million no page 3 girls, and there is a rag called Pasadena Weekly that prints the massage parlor ads and has free racks in a few places in town.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pasadena,_California

As I said Chris, it was to benefit local youth sports, several other of the families involved in that benefit stopped by the table and chatted with them. Any article with enough details to be newsworthy and someone would be able to place names to the children.

At least you are not standing in raw sewage and the A/C is out with the humidity at 80% and the temperature headed towards 100F. At least the water cooler is working. Gosh I love work! Oh, is there and outrage going on? Happy outrage day all.
