Okay, it would seem that you prefer me to put some ground rules down over what you can talk about in this thread/forum. There are no rules. If you want to have a conversation about (the following lines are my own opinion, I do not want to force them upon anyone) how stupid it is for America to shoot themselves in their collective feet by voting almost solely for those lying cheating Republicans, then go ahead, be my guest. Or if you want to rejoice about that fact, also fine.

That Jord isn't happy is not due to anything happening here on the forums, no need to appease me. Jord's not happy because both his feet now have plantar fasciitis and it's now hurting almost all hours of the day, with not much let off.

Mind if the OP says, that he posted rules in the first post of the thread? I'm not going to be a jerk enforcing them with dozens of requests to the moderator(s). As to the board in general, Jord is king.

Well no. I've been treated in 5 different ways now and it always returns with a vengeance. I know Blurf is right, that losing weight will most probably fix it, but for the first time in quite a long time I feel otherwise good about myself. I beat smoking, I beat drinking, both of those added weight.

I've never been a sporting person, so you won't easily see me go to a gym or other sports parlor. Besides, I ain't exactly swimming in money and the €115,- for the 12 turns is a little too much for me, we already are €150,- short at the end of the month.

Before anyone starts with warnings of diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease and those things, I have been checked and results are 'no, not susceptible', 'no, 110/70' and 'no, I have a 1% chance I drop dead in the next 7 years'. So uh... other than my lousy feet... :)

I have special custom-made shoes and implants made for my feet. But when your feet already hurt, these don't do their magic.

But alas, enough about me. Who knows a good joke?

To get to the podiatrist.

I had bone spurs on my heels that were leading to plantar fascitis. A combination of custom orthotics, stretching exercises for my feet, and electrical and ultrasound therapy stemmed it and reversed it enough that I no longer need the orthotics and the occasional pain usually works out if I do the stretching. It's a good thing, since my weight has increased since then.

To Scott, I say this was a referendum on which party can spend more money and tell more lies about the other and about the economy. And that's where I will leave it.

What I find strange is that the current political situation in the US has been discussed here and in the Cafe at SETI, yet not in the one place intended for political discussions, very odd.

Bernie! What is the point of discussing anything of any significance in Seti politics in any sort of sensible manner? You of all people as a Mod should understand why that is. If you want it spelt out in words of one syllable, I will do so upon request. I have walked out, so have others, and more will follow. Some of us would like to be somewhere more sensible to post, where certain people are not there. Maybe it is here, I don't yet know.

I have stayed out of the Seti politics forum since I first broke out of Technical News because I knew there would be people there that would raise my blood pressure to alarming levels. I get enough of that on Facebook. I'd rather be friends with the people on here.

This is NOT a personal ban by Eric, NOR is it a personal vendetta against you, and Eric does NOT hold a grudge against you. You have been "perma-banned" from Seti for consistent and flagrant violations of the rules in the Seti forums over a long period of time. The Mods, Fred, and Eric, finally decided that they had had enough of it. You cannot say that you were not forewarned, because you were.

You will still get your annual Christmas card from me as usual, as a kitty friend, but it is your choice whether to continue crunching for Seti@Home or transfer to another Boinc project.

It IS personal...........I have emails to attest to that end.

Have no knowledge. All I can say is last time a long banishment was issued it was on the order of a year. I'm sure you remember that incident. IIRC a pardon was issued in part because the person(s) remained crunching. You might want to consider leaving one of the kitties on Seti, or setting them to a small or backup fraction. History might repeat, they say it does.

OBW, now I know why I can't get any Einstein W/U's ;)
