Time to release the chupacabra |

My guess is that the devs have found E.T., and they've all hitched a ride back to her home planet to find out what it's like. |

David's internet is then really good to be able to post about Rosetta from there, wherever there is. |

David's internet is then really good to be able to post about Rosetta from there, wherever there is.You'd expect their internet to be better than ours! It still took him 12 days to post a limited version of what I'd already posted. |

How fast does internet travel through intergalactic Ethernet cables? |

I notice only now that according to the home page, SETI is now in "hiberation" mode. LOL .. Grumble on ... maybe someone in Berkeley will notice, maybe not ... Stephen <shrug> |

Any independent 'news' site that can't even spell "its" correctly (always adding the apostrophe, apparently no grammar checker) isn't worth my time, no matter their news. . . <nerd_mode>ON . . In English to distinguish between the possessive pronoun and the elided form of 'it is' the first is spelt (or spelled) without an apostrophe while the second uses an apostrophe. . . <nerd_mode>OFF . . So which case did they misspell? And how much mileage can we get out of this :) ??? {OK, I followed the previous link and found the offending source} Stephen :) |

The one they always get wrong (and many on here as well). Second sentence into the 'story': More than a half-century ago, British physicist Roger Penrose surmised that energy could be harvested from a black hole by dropping an object into it's ergosphere, the outer layer of the black hole's event horizon. Edit: I'm waiting for people to spell hi's or his' (instead of his) as they already do her's. |

@ Keith (and anyone else who offerred help) . . Archae86 pointed me to the Einstein page with a table of currently supported apps. It turns out that while E@H allows volunteers to select CPU work for GR Pulsar Binary Search #1 and GW Multi #2 the 1st sub project does not support CPU work (currently) and the second is out of work for the present. I dropped them both and selected GR Pulsar #5 and I am now getting CPU work. A cunningly crafted trap for players ... Stephen :) |

Edit: I'm waiting for people to spell hi's or his' (instead of his) as they already do her's. . . Hi's would be a most creative misspelling, more so than his' even though that is bizarre enough! Stephen :) |

Do we have to have a sacrifice to the spelling and grammar gods too? |

And that is a good reason for why they pulled the plug on the message board. It's bad to allow aliens to spread propaganda this close to an important election on Earth maybe. (Non-political statement) |

We're still in hiberation. I wonder when the hibernation will start? |

Is still Tuesday in CA? Maybe their calendar is broke. But not worry, my host is fully dismounted and a lot of electric power was saved. |

Is still Tuesday in CA? Maybe their calendar is broke. I wonder if power companies have seen their consumption go down as a result of no more SETI? |

No sure about that. The summer a/c consumption is probably going to go through the roof. The local national weather service is predicting 106°f/41.111°c tomorrow. |

The upper left coast is being blessed with highs of 70, no AC needed today. |

Wish I could say the same for NorCali. Over the century mark again for the next week. A/C has been on full-time. |
