Or, that our beers are brewed to taste their best when served warm, in the same way that most American beers are better when served cold and are quite disgusting when served warm. Rob actually each beer is brewed to be served at a specific temp. If you want nit pick they also should be served in specific shapes of glass which is partly responsible for how bid the head is. The bigger the head less co2. The CO2 concentration effects the acidity which has a huge bearing on the taste. |

Unless it is a nitrogen pressurized, as a few are. Never found a nitrogen pressurised one that I like. However, not sure how much choice there will be soon. Have we left it too late to all make one almighty sacrifice to get rid of this Covid-19? |

Have we left it too late to all make one almighty sacrifice to get rid of this Covid-19? All bars, night clubs, pubs, restaurants, etc. Any of the usual places of sacrifice where ordered to stay close here. And since i have 60 YO and ordered to stay at home too, I could try to do my part of the sacrifice in my house only. |

All bars, night clubs, pubs, restaurants, etc. Any of the usual places of sacrifice where ordered to stay close here. 63Yo here. Gin I rarely touch so plenty of that for other half. Bee:. 2 weeks supply at 2 beers/night. Home made Mead:1 Gallon bottled and 5 or 6 Gallons in Demijohns ready to bottle. - When I have six empty wine bottles will bottle next batch in the sequence. Assorted bottles of wine, about 15. Single Malt Whisky:about half a bottle left. Home made wine: 2 Gallons in Demijohns. Plus some other bits and bobs intended for cooking but in emergency could be used for the great sacrifice. Which only leaves the decision about the frequency of the sacrifice. Looking at every evening at the moment and could probably last six months without restocking so long as I don't mind drinking things other than ale after the first few weeks. |

You're lucky you got an order. I'm self-isolating in the box with Schrödinger's cat. I'm (nearly) 67¾, so on one list I'm not vulnerable because I'm under 70. But on another list, I'm offered a free flu jab every year because I'm over 65 (and for no other reason). And anyone who qualifies for a flu jab is automatically vulnerable, and has to stay in. I'll have to ask that darn cat - when I can find her. And when I get back from shopping. And the shopping will have to wait while I hold for BT, to find out why they cancelled the callback that they booked for this morning. |

It seems that the SETI servers are overloaded - Just took about 2 minutes to load the forums page and timed out trying to get to.my account page. |

wait while I hold for BT ...Well, that was worth doing. Just spent 40 minutes talking to a very friendly and helpful - and knowledgeable, and efficient - lady call handler, who has booked an 'up to five hours' home visit from a specialist engineer, on Monday morning. See if we can get to the bottom of this once and for all. |

Aside from Schrödinger's cat, do you experience other time related incidents? Message 96928 - Posted: 19 Mar 2020, 14:14:11 UTC My math may be off, but 14:14 -> 14:43 = 29 minutes. I can tell you, by Monday morning no one is coming to your house anymore because by then your country is also in lockdown and everyone is to stay at home. Listen to me! Whoa my words! |

A forum slowdown at the same time at Seti and BOINC... wow. |

OK, I didn't spend the whole 40 minutes talking to the call handler - she was much too efficient for that - but the call lasted 40 minutes, and I typed the first message while I was waiting in the queue. But then I posted the second one, and waited, and waited, over 7 minutes for the confirmation to appear. Eventually, opened a new tab and it was there already, while the timer was still spinning. Set out to do my shopping, by then into the middle of the school run. Yay! That's something I will happily do without next week. But why is there no milk in Yorkshire? Edit - again. Posting this edit in a second tab, while the first tab hasn't completed the original post. |

Yup, SETI is broken too. Just replied to a PM that still hasn't been notified to me by email yet. I sent the reply PM, didn't get the completion screen, and of course with no 'sent' folder (despite repeated requests), you can't be sure it's actually been processed. So - browser back button from spinning wheel screen (to composition screen): change addressee to self: post again: open inbox in new tab: verify PM has arrived. So I'm assuming Rob's got his copy too. |

Forum index here is taking 8 minutes to update after a new post. I think a Berkeley fiddler has been busy on both this and SETI's database configuration/settings. Email notification of PM took 42 minutes to arrive (although that could be Yahoo's fault - I've not got much email from anywhere today). |

So if I would send you a PM and want to send myself an immediate copy, I do: 1675, 8 in the To line. I think it's two or three people you can send to at the same time. |

Three. But you can't do it retrospectively if you didn't need to keep a copy in the first place. Good. Posted immediately, and index updated within 7 seconds. Going to watch some telly. |

Reposting what I put on SETI server thread in number crunching. The server will probably limp along on what can be done remotely until further notice: California Governor Issues ‘Stay at Home’ Order for Residents |

This morning I noticed that Sydney buses have a notice at the front, asking people to help the driver stay on the road, by not sitting or standing forward of notices on the windows. A smaller line across the bottom of the notices said something about social distancing. And the front tap on/off machine alongside the drivers has been blocked off. The latest message from the Prime Minister, about an hour ago, is that "social distancing" is now an area of 4 square meters "provided per person in an enclosed space, in a room." That's for working out how many are allowed in a room, up to a maximum of 100 people. |

My local whole foods shop is allowing a maximum of seven customers in at a time which is I would guess giving about three times that space. |
