The question of the day is does 6hrs constitute a super grand mal outrage? Methinks it does so I shall declare one unless someone has a valid objection.
The celebration should begin. and party on fellow crunchers.

Perhaps someone should donate them a new storage server on which they can store a new results database and leave the old one alone, so it doesn't have to be backed up every week. Linus just built himself two Storinators with 1PB per, so if he can do it, why can't Seti (we)?

After a bit if deliberation I have concluded that the dossonant sound of

is what is needed for stress relief.

I've started the chorus of kitties to howling in hopes that it will help.

Seti has also misjudged how long my cache of WUs would/will take. I usually am able to weather these longer outages and even delay reporting and asking for more to allow others to "feed" first, but this time I might have to jump in there and fight with you all for a few when it comes back up.

One of the good things when you use the spoofed client is you could wait until the servers are back and stable. By doing that we actually help the rest of the users by not asking work while all are asking at the same time. Now is close to 6 PM here, my host will only start to ask for new work after 11 PM. So you guy's could fill your caches first. I could take some more rounds on the pub without any problem. When i return, if by 11 PM the system still not stable (14 hours after it stop to ask new work at 9 AM or about 15 hours of outage) i will set it to NNT and wait until tomorrow morning.

Did anyone knows where is the moon? ... Just in case.

I do this too. (without having to spoof, since I have a slow machine), by taking 2 days worth on Monday night, and that has worked every time... so far. This time my grab has gotten WUs that are taking on average an hour less time than the server estimated. No biggie, just me whining. I could grab 2.5 or 3 days next week. I do hope that my not hitting the server during the recovery period is more helpful, even though I'm increasing the db size (which is only an issue recently).

This one is getting quite long. I wonder what extra things are being done this time around? Does anyone know the status of the massive bank of SSDs from our fundraising event? Have or are they putting those into service soon? On which server?

The moon is a "waxing crescent" -- almost completely dark going towards a full moon.

My weather app indicates it rises here in Dallas / Fort Worth TX USA at 08:23 and sets at 20:21 [Central Standard Time( UTC -6 hrs)].

SETI IS STILL DOWN. More burning hair is needed!

Maybe a Wig would help?

Then you could "burn, baby, burn!"

Over 12hrs, this is truly approaching epic, as I predicted. As the Fire Sign Theater described we are the amateur electrical hour.

My cpu is still seti@homing on my Intel but the gpu tasks are long gone. E@H appears to be making out like a bandit.

But then I only run 4 cpu threads on that box. Egads I may have to start spoofing gpus again... :)
