. . I must dare to interrupt the frivolities with a technical question without notice. Does anyone know if there are any repository Nvidia drivers (Linux) that support OpenCL?

Here's what I use for fresh installs:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:graphics-drivers/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt install nvidia-driver-430
sudo apt install ocl-icd-libopencl1

Just arrived and see my host is out of WU and SETI is still down.

I think the SETI Gods demand a huge sacrifice!

You mean this? sudo apt install ocl-icd-libopencl1

As JimB noted you have to install that for Linux OpenCL after you install your Nvidia drivers for the card.

The BIGest sacrifice you could make would be to "go dry" :)

My backup project has just blown past 200,000 RAC. There is just a little too much backup here.....

The outage News just updated:

Addendum (22 Jan 2020). We are now into the second day of the outage. We hope to wrap this up tomorrow. The reorganization of the database will help us reduce its size and this, in turn, should speed it up.

Wow, no reloading seti tasks tonight. :( I hope this fix sticks for a long time. All this hardware sitting idle or on backup is frustrating.

It is, but I am glad that Dr. K. gave us notice so we could all immediately switch to the backups smoothly, rather than floundering around posting madly wondering what is going on for half a day or so. We've had unplanned outrages this long over weekends where exactly that happened.

So, in the interim, as long as the hardware is doing some form of science, I'll happily ride it out. :^)

Yes, I appreciate the notices around recent events. Saves us a lot of frustration and wondering.

We owe Dr. K. and the rest of those working hard to reorganize / compact the database back into shape a BIG THANKS and a few cold brews.

If I recall, they did the same thing a few years back when we had the last major unplanned outage.

Anything with alcohol is welcomed in the SETI outrage pub.
Will go there later after the work hours to do the sacrifice only becase the SETI cause of course.

. . Well my preferred potion is Dom Benedictine, purely for medicinal purposes you understand ...

+1

My preferred Non-Seti@Home project is running short of cpu tasks. So I just switched Einstein@Home to "normal" for one of my locations. Sure enough that computer is now fully occupied.
