Can we start howling at the moon and putting our hair on fire yet?

Aw Shucks! The last outage was so nice and short. The server performed perfectly over the holiday weekend. I really thought today would be a nice short outage, but it has passed the 5 hour mark.

guess I'll start training my cats to howl at the moon if it will help.

Methinks it's a bit early for that but it not too early to declare an outrage.
If we get into a grand mal outrage then the smell of burning hair would be appropriate.

Trying to remember a very forgettable thing, the longest classic outage. IIRC it was nearly a month long, but I can't remember the exact length. Anyone have better memory?

There are 3 things a man loses as he gets older, the first is his hair, the second is his eyesight and I can't remember the third.

Didn't we have a long one when thieves stole the data cable linking the lab to campus?

I remember one that was a long outage over a December holiday season. I had shut down my machine while on vacation, and fired it back up when I got home and saw the big disaster of the server being down for a long time. I think it was about a month.

edit: my pending uploads uploaded... is the server up?

That sounds like a story to hear over a beer.

It's back, so we didn't get a grand mal outrage and no hair will be burnt today.

Well the good news is that for the last two outages Jord was spared the smell of burning hail and the ear splitting sounds of howling at the moon.

Too soon for me, maybe someone else will contribute to the aroma.

Hi ! What's up? it looks like a controlled shutdown vs a crash. I wonder what's going on.

Not me! I was cursing the PC god's yesterday trying to make my new Jetson Nano SBC behave. So my normal farm was being very neglected. Very different from the Raspberry Pi3+

It is past noon o'clock on the left coast so maybe a bit

and

the smell of burning hail
Now I wonder what that smells like. Can someone set some hail on fire please?

It's back, that distinct aroma and those sounds often work wonders.

IIRC in the movie The 10 Commandments, you can find it.
