The Tuesday outage is coming up so I thought I would check to see if this very necessary thread still worked and it does.

Seems to be server issues. Took forever to get this site up and post. Unable to get Seti. BOINC manager is on back off for uploads....Have to wonder what the issue is.

I think they lost their internet connectivity. I think they still use hurricane.net. Whatever. I am out of all gpu work on 4 hosts. The only host with work still is my spoofed host that has the large cache. Can't upload any finished work so no connections attempted to the Seti servers. On backup gpu projects now.

All 3 BOINC/SETI web sites (Main, Beta and this one) are timing out or refusing to load.

Indeed. As reported by Grant, major network problems with the Berkeley servers have been reported. This is in addition to the normally scheduled SETI@home maintenance outage due today. Looks like we're entering an Outrage zone here.

The outage starts and the DL are now happening, very slowly, but happening (about few KBps only)

I've had no problems at all with downloads - maybe that's an internet routing problem?

But uploads have been requiring multiple retries - I hope they give Bruno a good scrub behind the ears while they have the chance.

As you know if you have a lot of WU to UL the DL of new WU is stopped by the Boinc itself. So my host was unable to DL any new work since yesterday to be sure the DL are working. Access to the site was OK with few retries, before the outage begins of course.

Just noticed the BOINC on my phone hasn't been running for days, oh well.

They've put in place a workaround (until our own planned maintenance outage lol)

IST Network have a temporary work-around in place to stabilize the network while continuing to investigate the cause.

This might turn into a real outrage. After all if they can't reach the campus they can't run the outage scripts, or the ones that end the outrage.

Not sure if the temporary fix is working well, the UL are still very slow and with a lot of retries.

It has been down long enough to declare an outrage and yes uploads are working sort of.

I think the upload problem is entirely down to Bruno, and there's been no sign of anyone kicking his backside yet. Still slow and patchy upload service here.

Edit - that blew it. Now this site is went down too.

Still got 4th place to defend, only 7 more hours to go for this campaign.
