Judging by the varying start times (sometimes very early, Pacific time), I always assumed it needed a human being to press the 'stop' button, at the very least. But they may then be able to roll over in bed and go back to sleep while the automation takes over...

Good Morning! This is an early outage. No idea what the timing might mean for the length of the outage, but hoping for a short one since the system has been running well this week. I'm also happy to have some longer lasting AP WUs to crunch during the outage.

I need coffee to wake up enough to make some more coffee.

It has been down for enough time to start the party.

We are now in hour 5 of the outage. The glitter package video did help keep my spirits up though.

Now you've gone too far the other way! I drink 'ale' in the formal, British, sense of that word - more specifically, 'bitter', which is served at cellar temperature to enhance the taste.

The same pub does sell several 'lager' beers, all chilled to within an inch of their lives. I don't know whether that's because drinkers demand something to take the taste away, or because brewers know that they couldn't sell the stuff if the customers could taste it.

I've had a PM overnight going into more detail than you'd ever want to know, but without sources so I can't claim it is authoritative. It does suggest 50–55°F (10–13°C) for my bitter, which sounds about right.

Probably a bit of both - too many have been conned into thinking that the only way to drink "beer" is to have it so cold it knocks out the taste-buds so you can't taste how foul the stuff really is. So they demand all beers to be just as cold, even when they taste best at "cellar temperature" - which is generally a bit above 10C (50F) for UK beers "in the North", or a bit warmer "in the South" for a decent UK ale.

When I still drank alcoholic beverages - last 11 years, five months ago - I would like to drink Labatt Ice beer. A real way to wake up on a warm day, and then be drunk again real quickly. Not only was it frozen during development, it needed to be drunk at 3C or below as well.
