Ah, the joy of a 4 hr outage. |

Sadly due to the short outage this thread did not get much of a workout, I'm sure it has greater glory in the future. |

Yay! I finally have one... I'm a programmer who cracked your email account and device about half year ago.Difficult round-about way to get my contacts... they're in Gmail! That same Gmail you purportedly used to send me the email with. (But that's on such a different IP address that Gmail itself is saying this can't be me that sent it. :)) I made screenshot with using my program from your camera of yours device. No camera, buddy. So no pay. |

I get a regular flood of them in July, October & November with a little stream in December. They all say the same: Please renew your domain name/s within 7 days. I just bin them. |

Had a lovely time with "liberties" on main, but had to interrupt it by my annual stroke review. Couldn't believe the result, my blood pressure is normal. :-) It'll go down in approx. 43 minutes. Spoke too soon - it's down. |

Had a lovely time with "liberties" on main Glad you enjoyed it. Next time perhaps you can start the "discussion" in the personalities thread so I don't have to Thank you. PS it is down by the way. |

Well that depends on the OP of a post initiating discussion in said thread, don't you think? BTW, weren't you against discussion of moderation actions on main in another forum? What changed? |

What changed? One needs to have an outlet occasionally!! |

I awoke this morning to a hazy sky and a very red sun shining through. I guess the smoke from the Northern California fire has found it's way 660 miles north to my portion of the upper left coast. |

Likely that is your own smoke climate, not from the Camp Fire. Winds have been 90% prevailing from the north-east taking the smoke to the south and west. From the smoke maps, seems like lots of fire in Oregon and Washington that are generating their own smoke. If anyone caught the Monday Night Football game last night from Santa Clara, you would have seen smoke from the Camp Fire in the stadium. Santa Clara is 220 miles to the south-west of Paradise. Haven't seen the real sun since the fire started. Just a orange dot, if that. PM2.5 particulate matter has been off the charts, literally. The charts only go to 600 and all the peaks are beyond that. My Purple Air II sensor has been in the orange and red since the beginning of the fire. Purple Air map |

Update my local NPR station just referenced this from the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency. For Nov 13-17: Lingering MODERATE pollution on Tuesday (even with a little wildfire smoke from California currently) will clear out in the afternoon through Thursday https://www.pscleanair.org/ |

No smoke from wildfires round here (except when they clear the heather from the grouse moors), so they're planning to generate their own. I've just been down to the public environmental consultation for the waste incinerator they're planning to build about a mile upwind of me: I don't think anyone had visualised it in three dimensions until I got there. |

They had "Money Trees" for sale in Trader Joe's today. I have never seen such a thing. It looked like a pot plant to me. The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

Been a really bad year for forest fires and smoke in Northern California. We had two months of fires and smoke earlier in August-September from the Carr Fire near Redding. That one caused really bad air since it was to the north of me and that is where the prevailing winds come from most of the year. Besides having to breathe bad air it has also reduced my solar generation by 2MWh so far and that is what offsets my use of the computers for crunching. |
