I don't feel like cooking tonight. I think I'll get something from this Thai restaurant: What spice level do you usually get? I'd never been to this place, so I'm glad I chose "1". ;~) The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

I don't feel like cooking tonight. I think I'll get something from this Thai restaurant: Well, one place I went I ordered spicy, but they did spicy for a white guy. I asked for the pepper condiments and proceeded to actually put some spice into it. Took a couple bites and then added in more. Waitress* looking out kitchen door, what is white guy putting in a Thai home cooked level of spice? Finished it. Never had a problem when I ordered spicy from her again. Mind you it was lunch time and 100+ outside, so I wanted to sweat. Fast way to cool down if the humidity isn't too high. Now the other waiter there, I never could get him to get it spicy. He always told the kitchen wimp. Hate that. It is hard to get the spice even unless it gets cooked in. Oh, I do enjoy spicy, but there are some things that are too f'in hot. I think it depends a lot on what the food is that the spice is on and the temperature the dish is served. Watery, oily, absorbing, etc. It may also depend on the kind of pepper. *She may have been the owner. |

If you know someone with access to a synchrotron or other particle accelerator you could get them to place it in the machines magnetic field? |

Even a humble MRI scanner might be enough... |

I was breaking a little sweat on level number 1, and that was just enough kick for me. The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

One thing about spicy is the more often you eat it the less you get burn and can taste the subtle flavors of the peppers. |

Ah that fun time where some denizens retreat into their echo chambers and others come over here. Happy holidays Jord. |

So I just had my speakers blaring at me that my computer had a serious virus infection and would be disabled by Microsoft because it was threatening their systems worldwide ... which briefly got me really quite interested in how little me could do that, and even then ponder on whether I should just let it happen instead of contacting them immediately with my details so it didn't. Except I wasn't born yesterday so I executed it on the spot. I could have done without leaping out of my skin initially though. but it did at least highlight the fact that the volume needed turning down a bit. edit... so... you know ... *disease-ridden stare at culprits* thanks. |

It has been down almost 4 hrs, methinks that is long enough. I am ready for it to come back. |

I actually have a call on my answering machine from this afternoon that says "Windows Security has been breached" and Microsoft will be shutting down my computer if I don't call them back. The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

I actually have a call on my answering machine from this afternoon that says "Windows Security has been breached" and Microsoft will be shutting down my computer if I don't call them back.Do you have a system in America where you can hide your number when calling out? And do you have some time to spare, a shrill whistle and/or some lovely loud clashy things to bash together when they pick up your call? And then do you feel like - keeping them on the line so they're unable to clear the connection. I did that once with a repeat offender a few years ago. It felt good... but otherwise... don't ring them at all. They don't like that either because they can't steal all your passwords and clean out your bank account. edit: or perhaps a little favour from Gary...? ;) |

edit: or perhaps a little favour from Gary...? ;) An Air Tray works best, that way they don't put up much of a fuss going in. |

They're from all sorts of different people, from charities to who knows what - half the time, I say hello 3 times and nobody is there. The mind is a weird and mysterious place |
