So, get off of my back when I sometimes wish it was better. No one's " had a go " at you Mark , so WTF are you going on about with that comment ? or is this the " start " of a " usual " kittyman weekend ? That we all " love " so much ( almost so regular you can set your clocks by it ) |

And some may say that my view is not the only one in the world. But, my love and the Lord told me....................that if I would so spread His word to the rest of the world that some might understand. And that I might be hated and quite misunderstood for the words I have spoken. I rest now, in quiet slumber with the kitties that I love so much,. Meow to you all. |

Therefore they must still have a script somewhere that says basically Problem is, how to define a top end machine? BOINC may send the information about the CPU & GPU to the server, but that's just for statistics, the server & scheduler don't do anything with the information at Seti. That's why when you start at the project and get stock applications, you're sent a wild variety of applications to run through. The plan class? It's mainly there to avoid sending work to a computer using wrong drivers. The BOINC back end does have an option for sending work to trusted computers, so perhaps that there's something to work with. But even slow computers can be trusted, as long as they send in the results before the deadline. So then you end up at Homogeneous Redundancy, which could be enabled and then work is sent to the same hardware. This is then where the information about the CPU & GPU is being used. But it requires a new setup of the project. They can't just add this option and continue with it without having to wait until all present work out is back in. |

Sounds like a lot of work to me to impliment that idea and given the staff ,funding , cost and time issues probably ain't practical at all |

So, get off of my back when I sometimes wish it was better. W..? Just another intelligent and mature post from Mark. Back to Subject, if allowed. Lets' give those, attempting to fix whatever the problem is. A little slack. kittyman, and others, may be correct in believing seti@home has reached the limits of its capacity. If that is the problem. Perhaps those Managing seti@home, can give us an estimate regarding the funds needed, and start another Fund Raising Drive. |

When, and if ever, you have something real to say here to me, I am probably not going to read it anytime soon. I check this board once in a blue moon, usually when Seti has crashed., You may contact me on the Seti boards, when they are up. |

I check this board once in a blue moonYou just post a lot, rant at others? Because for someone who says he doesn't read a lot here, you're quite a lot around. 26 times in the past 7 days. That's not hardly ever, almost never, scarcely ever, rarely, very seldom what once in a blue moon implies. |

Hmm, haven't missed much :-) Thought I blew another GPU Fri morning, but this time, it turned out to be the monitor :-( Ordered a replacement just before midday. Wasn't expecting it until mid week so was surprised on getting home yesterday evening to find it's been delivered (nice neighbours). Too tired after a night out so set it up this morning. |

Looks like the SETI servers just went down. I was getting no server response on requests messages on all my systems. Just checked isitdownorjustforme and it looks like it went poof again. |

I tried to beat the servers and resupply after my morning reschedule. But of course timed it most imperfectly ... as usual. Oh well, the CPU on Numbskull gets a breather today which matches up I guess with a cloudy day and low generation. |

Since I crunch Seti on my CPUs only, unless something really changes, usually the only way the outrage effects me is the loss of the boards. Einstein gets my GPUs. |
